Stranded 'kus!

forest fire:
lone bird in the sky-
stranded high.
***
gathering storm:
burdened thoughts at war-
stranded within.

***
flowing stream:
calms the inner soul-
happily stranded.

***
clear blue sky:
merry making birds-
stranded hearts.

I really like the first poem. Nice and concise; you painted a simple but powerful picture.

your second speaks so clearly to how my mind seems to work...sometimes i really feel stranded within myself when i am in turmoil.

Stranded can be a good or a bad experience depending on the circumstances surrounding that imposed solitude. Beautifully done.

An bird stranded by fire must be one of the most heart-breaking things I could possibly see.

Nicely done... I especially like the first two.

They are all really great. The line burdened thoughts at war truly fits how I was feeling tonight.

I do love how you are able to make stranded be a good thing as well as (how I always think of it) a bad thing.

Simply brilliant. How do you do it?

This poem would work for Michelle's Monday Mural too.

I like how each image from each stanza seems to balance the one before it. I tend to gravitate toward the peaceful images.

I'm glad you stopped by because all four of these are really good. There's a certain clarity we can all carry away from this experience. Nicely done. Have a nice day.

Perspectives of being stranded has been offered so musically.

The beauty of seeing many sides of one single impression.

I’m glad I happened upon your ‘stranded’ poems today while clicking through the OSI feed in Google Reader. Somehow I missed your post while using the Mr. Linky earlier today. Each is wonderfully poignant!

I’m late to visit because ‘life’ got in the way, but I did publish two ‘week 6’ posts for One Single Impression: Stranded ... one on each of my blogs on Wednesday of last week and I hope you’ll find time to visit. They’re here: Heliocopter Rescue and Polar Bears
Hugs and blessings,
