Resolution This Season!

I was lost in thoughts as I walked down this long corridor at work. My mind was full of tasks to finish at work, chores to complete at home, and this, and that, and everything else. Before I realized I came face-to-face this giant “Santa Claus”, with long white beard and a beaming smile. But for the red attire he fit the role to the dot. To avoid collision, I stepped aside and he did the same. I stepped the other way and he followed. We began to apologize, our eyes met and we grinned from ear to ear, and he went “Wanna dance?”
I couldn't help but laugh. As we walked away, he never knew he had made my day. My week was going from bad to worse and I needed the laugh and a reminder to take life easy. Not always seriously, worrying all the time. Somehow that chance encounter made things lighter and bearable. As the seasons change, I have finally found the perfect New Year's resolution. Believe me, I am big on resolutions! I have a tendency to stick and follow through come hell or high water.

So this one is a toughie, starting today I will treasure each moment in life, give it the worth its due and live life to the full.... for the value of human life is surely priceless.

i too am calculating a response to my total disregard for life.. i am hoping that the solstice of winter will allow me renewal this year... a renewed desire to be part of this life... thank you for this wonderful reinforcement....

Your resolution is wonderful, but what struck me even more was your remark that you actually can keep them. I hope this one takes less work than you think it will.

(Hope your daughter is OK.)

That's a wonderful resolution but it is a hard one to keep. We cant' always remind ourselves how lucky we are.

I wish you success in keeping your resolution.

I just love people like that Santa! Some may have gotten miffed and made that aggravated noise with their breath. Don't you wish we could mentally let people like that know how much their good nature helped us? Such a nice story, hope you're having a better day! and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

How very true! It is on such occasions that we notice, that we have been taking life so seriously, even our face has turned into a sharp, serious frown. Wish a smilecomes your way all thru the New Year

Happy New yera to you all
