Drunk Ranting.

Hear you people, my New Year resolution
Drunk as I am, might forget this solution
Here’s my pledge to save my wealth,
No more smoking to rescue my health
If nothing my intention, less pollution!
****
Every now and then people make these drunken promises
that they find difficult to keep, let's hope you and I stick with
the promises we do make for New Year's.

A third attempt at limerick, please find the haiku here,
both in response to the prompt from Mad Kane.
Comments and criticisms welcome as always.

I like that! It rings so true! Make the third and fourth line in a limerick shorter.

Wish you a very happy 2008!

I love your limerick, but I gave up New Year's resolutions years ago.

It seems that the amount of time that the "resolution" was in effect became shorter and shorter. After awhile I knew I wasn't so "resolved" after all!

Marvelously done. And for being able to make it a two-fer...I raise a toast to you.

Great how it fit with both themes. Brought a grin to my face, too.
