ugliness is inborn
just like goodness,
mixture of the two
does not cause harm
but only compliments-
should they remain
like oil and vinegar:
together yet apart,
embracing yet detached,
separate identities,
preserving character-
easy to move aside,
when time arrives!
key of detachment
is easy to loose:
beware of its risk
when mixing twos-
for negatives arise
as attachment is born,
and flavours bring war
unlike oil and vinegar!

UL-
You have great potential in writing such profound poetry...detachment is something that is hard to develop, but something that we must all be aware of and work on developing.
this is so very interesting to me, i am filled with pictures and images, and i really like your style here! (i hope you posted this at the other link...the one you connected to isn't the correct one for this prompt)
My favorite lines are:
beware of its risk
when mixing twos-
for negatives arise
as attachment is born,
and flavours bring war
unlike oil and vinegar!
there's a mathematical theme here too, I think, with the implication of a double negative.
How hard it is not to cling to a desired outcome.
The old adage 'opposites attract' comes to mind here.
i think in all truth we are all a mix of ugly and goddess... it is just which one we nurture,, that we become....
this was lovely UL....
I like the warning at the end! Cool contrast!
damn good.. nish and me have been talkin of what detachment means.. for me the first thing that comes to mind is Siddhartha leaving everything to become Buddha.. the extreme case.. nish had her own perspectives of unconditional love and freedom.. etc.. never thought i cud think of such a down to earht on the table comparison to detachment.
interesting proquik, because the way I see it is to be present amongst the worldly objects and still remain detached, very tough to practise, but if it remains in the back of the mind day in and day out, it slowly starts taking effect. thanks for visiting, will come and say hello to you, been so long.
