Hope

smoky clouds gray
sunshine peeks through –
rays of hope escape
life survives.

A dear friend of mine sent this news that empowered me enough and moved me to tears. Please take a moment to visit the link and catch the video. It’s about a premature baby who fell through a moving train’s toilet in Ahmadabad, India. You may or may not know this but most toilets of trains in India open up to the tracks. The baby has survived the fall after being discovered two hours since.

As some know, premature babies are a subject very dear to my heart. The photographs and the shots of the baby reminded me of my own daughter’s premature birth. The little girl is three times my daughter’s birth weight and the attending physician doubts whether she will survive. My heart tells me she will. I hope she receives the best care she could possibly obtain. My thoughts and prayers rivaled each other to the forefront of my mind’s eye, please Lordy Lord, let her be a miracle like my own.

Note that the photograph is one I found a long time ago online, but cannot find the link to,
any more. It's not one of mine, but it sure reminds me of my daughter, they all look so similar at that age, small yet beautiful.

This post is in response to the prompt from Sunday Scribblings,
and the prompt from Writer's Island.

omg what a tragedy for that poor baby girl. I pray she survives. I didn't know the trains toilets were designed that way. That poor Mom must feel awful. Hope you will give us an update and it's good news. :))

I too am praying for a happy ending to your post. I lost my first daughter to a premature birth. It is something I will never forget.

Preemies are definitely miracles and keeping them alive and healthy is more of a miracle even though it involves modern day medicine.

Yes, I heard it on the news. Hoping she survives, without lasting problems. My cousin was very premature and is now the largest one in his family, with two kids of his own.

Oh what a little miracle UL. She must have been born with a great guardian angel and will survive just like yours. She was meant to be here. Take care.

I did not pay enough attention to the news yesterday, so I'd not heard. You've told her story well. I can see how you went back in time with it.

Your writing alone is like a prayer. Our thoughts pay homage here to all premature babies everywhere! Where ever you found this pic it is a stellar image to accompany your thoughts.

We all came to this world with a purpose and no amount hindrance could stop us to fulfill that. I think this story simply reminds us of that.

The child and your daughter has accomplished one of their purpose. They made their statements loud and clear.

I wish you well.

I did hear that on the news. How amazing that she even survived the initial fall.

I have a little cousin who was born 3 and a half months early. I held her in the palm of my hand. She's nine now :)

Amazing are the works of God!
God Bless you for posting this!
I hope this baby lives to hear and tell her story before her story-so to speak.

It is so sad. The poor little baby. I hope she makes it. How wrenching for the poor mother.

I was a premie by 6 weeks. Not by very much compared to some. Still, I am partial to premies.

Hi UL. Just dropping by to see how you are. Your latest post really touched me. God's hands has protected this little child from harm on that day,..and I pray that with divine love, the child will survive and live a healthy life.
