Twirling

I learnt to dance a different kind of dance just the other day. One where I could let go and dance without being conscious of the world around me. No one to judge or make sarcastic remarks, oh pure bliss! There was so much freedom, so much exhilaration and so much joy in the cheek to cheek movement that went far beyond the physical activity. Our minds spoke to each other in ways no words could possibly have done, love brimmed and I hugged the bundle of warmth closer to my heart. Unconsciously she felt it too because her arms tightened around my neck and then...

Silence - a happy, heavenly silence!

…followed by tugging and a whisper, ‘da’ce, da’ce mo'e’, which brought me down to solid ground. A fast number played, we twisted and twirled to the rhythm, pumping my adrenalin, laughing together and finally slumping down.

‘More later darling, all done for tonight, bed time for you munchkin’

************
My daughter likes everything in reverse, first read her books then into pjs, a dance with mama or dada, sometimes both and then bed. We do it every night. The Dad accompanies us at times and we dance together as a family. The best kind of dance, one that makes me count my blessings for sure.

We are a dancing family too....I was actually thinking about how I used to twirl and swing my children in my arms when they were little......Saturday night dances in the livingroom. Now they are too big to carry in a dance, but they are both movers and wigglers....always dance moves. Just like their Dad....which is why I fell in love with him in the first place.....

Wonderful post UL........loved the picture of you and your family dancing as part of bedtime.

hope you're dancing right now!
