A Note

Dear Notebook,

Your silent whiteness persuade me to nibble and scribble thoughts that bombard my mind day in and day out. Several emotions will mark your softness leaving long lasting smudges and stains. Time will take away your virginity and bring forth mature wisdom. Yet years later those long absent memories will play back in flashback like an old black and white. I relive my emotions and so will all the other souls who are fortunate to encounter you in the years to come. My diary, my friend, yours is a friendship I cherish forever.

Yours truly,
Emily

****

And so begins the first of many diaries I found in the attic of my ancestral home, written by my great grandma dated 1869.

Incredibly well done! Is this in fact, fiction? I'm hoping there will be more - this would make a lovely serial poem...with notes.

I liked this. I started to pick out my favorite line, and then had to stop because so many were standing out to me. Well done.

Is this is a real diary? It does sound real.

I really like it. My favorite is this part: "Your silent whiteness persuade me to nibble and scribble thoughts that bombard my mind day in and day out."

What a wonderful post for all Diary-lovers. True the Diary is the best friend of man, be it to scribble his daily routine or his happiness or sorrow. No one confides to a human friend as much as one does to his Diary. May be Diary is the ONLY friend whom you can trust to keep your secrets, as long as you wnat it to.

Oh wow! How amazing it must be to find and read something like that.

It makes me think how many beautiful thoughts and passages have been written in diaries and journals that will never be read.
