Renewal

The freshness of spring, the crispness of summer, the gentleness of autumn and finally the harshness of winter brings to mind a healthy cycle. To me it represents signs of natural prosperity. So it’s worrying when seasons don’t change. Winter merges with spring, summer extends into fall and and we have barely had a four-season cycle over the past few years.

At my end, if it weren’t for my calendar that clearly points out the fact that we are into fall, I would never have guessed. The temperatures are still high in the eighties when it should be low in the seventies. The leaves are drying up and falling, there’s barely a color change. Nature is rebelling and we do nothing. Absolute nothing!

Global warming is a buzzword to many, when it should be the mantra in every human mind. Everyone sane should be thinking of ways to avoid a catastrophic natural disaster, but what do we do? Again, nothing. We leave it to the experts and politicians. Every little thing a person can contribute would be valuable.

Pollution is the talk of the town, but what exactly are we doing to prevent it? Nothing at all. Car-pooling is a no-no. Public transportation a joke. Just buzzwords again that gets posted on notice boards. We have a tendency to presume that such disasters will not happen in our lifetimes. Wrong presumption. What’s the real truth?

We are heading in the direction of a fast approaching train as I speak, that's the honest truth. The light at the end of the tunnel sure appears suicidal to me. Doesn’t it to you?

You must live in the South - today was the first fresh day we've had, and it's October 10. The problem of global warming is like a wave that's too big to ignore, but too big to run away from.
